So unbelievably sad to have to re-home Arthur and Pierre, they are much loved pets and have been with us since July 2019 when we got them as babies. My boys are so funny and clever and have bought so much joy with their love of
going on walks with us (on and off the lead) and their love of just being around us.
We have just started a family and unfortunately their horns have grown much bigger than expected, and are just too big now for me to feel safe with very little ones around them. I have looked into the option of removing their horns but have been told that it is painful, traumatic and they may be forlorn without them. Just to clarify, they aren't aggressive towards people, but the thought of them accidentally getting a toddler with a horn is my worry.
The boys will be free to a good home. I would like someone who will love and care for them the way we have, preferably someone who has had goats before, and preferably still, someone who has other livestock so they can make new furry friends!
Arthur (black and white) gets a poorly ear. After much testing, the vets aren't sure what it is! They surmise / guess that it is an allergy to a regular mite that doesn't bother other goats, but he gets a reaction which can look pretty grisly. After a course of 3 injections of Iml of Eprecis it clears up, repeated every five - six months. For clarification, it isn't contagious - Pierre has never suffered with it, or caught it, so there in no worry in that regard.
